Yes, you have guessed it right, it is diarrhea. Who on earth could think of it as a medical emergency?! Diarrhea is caused primarily by several types of intestinal infections. you might experience abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, and fever, with bloody stool in the severest conditions. What makes diarrhea an emergency is that it causes your body to lose great amounts of fluids and electrolytes quickly which renders you dehydrated. When someone is dehydrated, they experience pale and dry skin, dry mouth and tongue, weakness, and when the case worsens it causes changes in mental status. Dehydration can be caused by other things besides diarrhea, like vomiting, heat stress, fever, etc., or vigorous exercise and hard physical work.  Obviously, rehydration is the key. For any type of poisoning, you need to bear in mind that the safety of the first aid provider is the priority, we do not want to risk a life saving another. So that any direct contact with any material possibly containing poisons should be avoided. call the emergency medical services for further and immediate help if the person is unconscious, having difficulty or stopped breathing, uncontrollably restless or agitated, or having a seizure. Statistics show that 9 in 10 teenagers have been presented with some kind of medical emergency and 8 in 10 of those did not know what to do in that situation. Globally, cardiac arrest claims more lives than colorectal cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, influenza, pneumonia, road traffic accidents, HIV, firearms, and house fires combined. According to 2017 statistics, more than 356,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital annually and about 90% of them die. These statistics also showed that among the 356,000 out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) that occurred, approximately 46% received CPR.
